Preview: Boldmere St Michaels (home)

No doubt about it, it’s been an exciting few days at Sporting Khalsa, what with one thing or another. But it’s certainly not escaped anybody’s attention that we have two massive league games coming up, starting on Saturday at home against Boldmere St Michaels.

Although Stuart Grosvenor’s side has struggled so far this season by their high standards, they have enjoyed something of a recovery of late, beating Quorn 2-1 a fortnight ago.

In their last league match they were only edged out by the odd goal in five by AFC Wulfrunians, an away fixture that is testing for any side.

Their top scorer is Charisma Agbonlahor, who has bagged eight goals in his 13 appearances so far this season and who obviously has a famous relative playing for a Premier League side not a million miles away from Boldmere’s Sutton Coldfield base.

It will mean a return for assistant manager Pete Wood, who turned out for Boldmere during a long and illustrious playing career, and for Khalsa’s top scorer Craig Bannister.

Admission is £5 and kick off is 3pm.

With Villa away and Wolves on playing on Saturday, it’s an opportunity to come and see Ian Rowe’s FA Cup heroes in action!

The 442 Bar and Lounge will be open from midday so get along early for a drink and something to eat. If you’ve never been before, make Saturday the day!
