A record crowd of over 2,200 saw Sporting Khalsa go toe-to-toe with FC United of Manchester – three leagues above them – in a pulsating FA Cup clash.

Tes Robinson‘s goal half way through the second half to bring the game back to 2-1 saw the home side on the ropes and but for a controversial penalty decision, might have got themselves back into it.

As it was, goals by Luke Ashworth, Greg Daniels and a quality finish by Craig Lindfield were to give FCUM a deserved victory.

Although the FA Cup journey is over for another year, although the road to Wembley resumes next Saturday as we face Shirebrook in the first round of the FA Vase.
