Mulligan joins Khalsa Women as manager

Sporting Khalsa Women are pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Mulligan as our 1st team manager for next season.

Andy is the Chief Executive of Sports Plus Scheme Ltd and a UEFA B Coach.

Andy brings with him 15 years experience within the Women’s Game where he started out at Aston Villa Girls and Ladies FC Managing their Youth Teams, Reserves & 1st Team.

This lead to him having two successful seasons at Dudley United Ladies FC where he lead them to consecutive promotions.

More recently 2014/15 Season Andy was 1st team coach at Leafield Athletic Ladies FC and helped lead them to achieve a strong third place finish. Last season, Andy kept an involvement with Leafield for a handful of games as a coach on match days.

Andy said: “I am excited about the challenge of taking over at Sporting Khalsa and feel with the current crop of players and some additions we can continue to develop and move forward to have a successful season.”

Andy will be supported by Assistant Manager Steve Barrow, who took over the reins midway through last season and helped secure a third successive season in the FA Women’s Premier League.

Juan Dopazo will continue as 1st team coach and further support will be provided by Joe Ball as Goalkeeper Coach.

Kelly Williams the chairwoman of the Ladies and Girls section said: “We are really pleased to get Andy on board this season, he has a lot of experience within the women’s game and we know first hand how well drilled and difficult his sides are to play against.

“I am really pleased on how the management team has shaped up and believe the level of experience and skills within the team will compliment one another and significantly benefit our players this season.”
