Darlaston 0 Sporting Khalsa 3 (friendly)

Khalsa began their preseason campaign with a 3-0 win over neighbours Darlaston Town on a warm summer’s evening in Tipton.

In a match with rolling substitutes and split into three 30-minutes periods, Ross Miller (minding the shop while manager Ian Rowe tops up his tan) made the most of the opportunity to run the rule over familiar faces, returning faces, new arrivals and a handful of trialists.

Indeed, it was one of the trialists who seized the moment by plundering a couple of goals before new arrival Tony Clarke wrapped up a satisfying day at the office with a third.

Undoubtedly the highlight of the evening was seeing Johnny Haynes back from long-term injury and looking in excellent shape, to the delight of everybody involved with the club.
