League fixtures announced for 2018-19

The Midland Football League has today announced the fixtures for the 2018-19 season.

Khalsa start their league campaign with a trip to Derbyshire to take on Long Eaton, a side Ian Rowe‘s troops suffered two defeats against last season, 2-1 at home and 4-2 away within a matter of weeks of each other. This game is on Saturday August 4 (kick off 3pm).

The first game on the 3g pitch at the newly revamped Aspray Arena will be Tuesday August 8 when Paul Smith’s Highgate United side will be the visitors (kick off 7.45pm).

Some highlights: Khalsa return to recent landlords AFC Wulfrunians on August Bank Holiday Monday (kick off 3pm), hosting them in the return game on Boxing Day. Neighbours Walsall Wood visit the Aspray Arena on Saturday November 24 and the return game is scheduled to be the penultimate game of the season on Saturday April 22.

Of course, there’s all sorts of potential for fixture disruption, so keep up-to-date on games via the Khalsa Twitter account at @sportingkhalsa.
