Sporting Khalsa 2 Alvechurch 2 (friendly)

Lee Chilton – grabbed the first equaliser against Alvechurch

Khalsa came back from behind twice against old rivals and Evostik Southern Premier League Central Division hotshots Alvechurch to wrap up their preseason exploits with a highly credible draw.

The visitors, familiar foes in recent years before back-to-back promotions elevated them to greater things, went ahead twice.

First, Josh March grabbed his obligatory goal against Sporting Khalsa and, following an equaliser by Lee Chilton, Tom Turton put Ian Long’s side ahead from the spot.

But Khalsa stuck with their task in dogged fashion and a late equaliser by Jay Holdcroft was enough to seal a draw and maintain a fragile peace between the rival friends in the dug out.

Khalsa’s Midland Football League campaign starts on Saturday with a trip to Long Eaton (kick off 3pm) with the first home game, a particularly tasty-looking clash, with Highgate United on Tuesday (kick off 7.45pm)

After today’s final preseason game, the goal tally (nothing serious, just for fun) is:

Lee Chilton – 6

Mykel Beckley – 3

Jay Holdcroft – 3

Kieron Miller – 2

Dan Westwood – 2

Alex Woodhouse – 2

Tony Clarke – 1

Vidal Hendrickson – 1

Dave Meese – 1

Leon Miles – 1

Josh Thomas – 1
