Preview: Sporting Khalsa v Shepshed Dynamo

It’s a big one on Tuesday (kick off 7.45pm) as Khalsa host Shepshed Dynamo in a sixth vs fifth battle as the title race moves towards the business end. Shepshed are just one point ahead of Khalsa in the league having played a game more.

On Saturday, Shepshed were held 0-0 by Coventry United but had won their three league previous games – a 3-1 victory over Loughborough University, a 4-2 win over Wolves Sporting and a 4-0 win against Boldmere.

Like Khalsa, Shepshed reached the fourth round of the FA Vase and were eliminated by Hebburn Town.

Matthew Melbourne and Sam Moore have been in the goals for Dynamo this season with 14 and 13 goals respectively.

Previous meetings between the two have seen Khalsa generally on top with three wins out of six, one defeat and a pair of draws last season, including the worst game of football in history on the final weekend of the season.

Shepshed – in this writer’s opinion – have the best travelling fans in the league and are boisterous and amusing in equal measure. Hopefully a few of them make it down, despite being midweek in January. Admission is £5, £3 concessions/under 16s. Food and drink will be in plentiful supply, the action will be fast and furious.
