Result: Coventry Sphinx 0 Sporting Khalsa 2

Sam Arnold – 15 clean sheets for The Cat.

Khalsa followed up Tuesday’s morale-boosting cup win over Rushall with a much-needed three points against fellow top six side Coventry Sphinx.

Two goals by substitute Jay Holdcroft – taking him to 15 this season in all competitions – will get all the plaudits, quite rightly. But Mensah Kinch played a vital role in both goals while Sam Arnold produced a decisive save on the hour to keep the deadlock intact.

The win puts Khalsa fourth in the Midland Football League, eight points off leaders Ilkeston Town with two games in hand and a big clash between the two set for next Saturday.
