RESULT: Selston 4 Sporting Khalsa 6

Lee Chilton – grabbed an equaliser just before half time.

It was a ten-goal thriller as bottom of the league faced top with unexpected results. Selston – pointless and with only three goals before this game – proved resilient and energetic opponents on a day where the weather proved a leveller.

After taking the lead twice, Selston were pegged back by goals from Rikardo Reid and Lee Chilton before half time. Goals by Jake Gosling and Gaz Singh in an explosive phase of second half play looked like Khalsa were cruising. But Selston pulled one back before Reid added another to make it 5-3 only for another from the home side to make it 5-4. A fortuitous offside flag denied Selston an equaliser before Sean Williams wrapped up the scoring with the last kick of the game to make it 6-4 and ensure Khalsa’s lead at the top remains intact.
