Recap

Mykel Beckley – equalised from the penalty spot.

Khalsa suffered defeat in the snow at Long Eaton, despite fighting back from two goals down. A sublime hat-trick by Long Eaton’s young striker Zak Goodson was effectively the cause of Khalsa’s downfall.

Goals by Goodson in the first half – first a low effort from range on 21 minutes and then a brilliant pieces of trickery to beat two defenders and curl home on 32 minutes – had Khalsa reeling in the first half.

Half time changes saw Mensah Kinch replace Dan Lomas and Josh Thomas come on for Jak Jeys and there were immediate results as Craig Bannister pulled one back after great work by Josh down the left.

Six minutes later and Khalsa were level, Liam Holt was pulled down in the box and up stepped Mykel Beckley to convert. On 59 minutes Beckley had a brilliant chance to put the visitors ahead but skied a good opportunity.

The loss of Thomas to injury hindered Khalsa’s momentum and two late goals for the home side in the last ten minutes sealed their fate. On 81 minutes Goodson produced a great finish to put the home side ahead once again and on 90 minutes substitute Jack Duffy wrapped up the win.
