Dave Meese – first half header represented the only action of note in one of the world’s worst games.

By any stretch of the imagination, those was a poor game. Played out on a bone dry pitch, on a scorching hot day, with nothing at stake in the league by two depleted squads, this was an absolute shocker of a match, the weather and the beer on sale at Butthole Lane representing the extent of the enjoyment for the spectators.

Indeed, the only real moment of note came on 39 minutes when a Callum Cooper corner was headed harmlessly wide by Dave Meese.

But for a number of half chances and blocked efforts, there was genuinely next to nothing of note to mention as Shepshed settled in for their seventh place in the Midland Football League while Khalsa, as had been confirmed several weeks ago, finished in fifth spot.

Sporting Khalsa: Sam Arnold, Carlo Franco, Dan Lomas, Shawn Boothe (Leon Miles), Tes Robinson (captain), Dave Meese, Craig Bannister, Mike Perks, Danico Johnson, Mykel Beckley, Callum Cooper. Subs not used: Ryan Pratt, Josh Thomas.
