Khalsa’s woes continued as a makeshift line-up were outplayed and outfought during their first league visit to South Normanton.
The home side took the lead in controversial fashion on nine minutes, Lee Fell bundling the ball past Sam Arnold after what looked suspiciously like an offside in the build-up. Another break down the left on 25 minutes almost doubled the lead but for Arnold’s save from Marcus Tudgay. From the resulting corner, Marc Stanrzyzewski crashed a header against the bar.
Six minutes later the lead was doubled, a fine threaded through ball finding Tudgay to slot home and make it 3-0.
Worse was to follow on 37 minutes when Tudgay got his second from the penalty spot. The first half, already a disaster, could have been a catastrophe on 43 minutes when Stanrzyzewski again hit the crossbar with a header from a corner.
Not long after the restart, Tudgay wrapped up his hat-trick after he was brought down by Arnold in the penalty area and was able to convert from the spot.
On 75 minutes substitute Jay Holdcroft pulled one back with a good shot after a great pass from Danico Johnson from the right flank. And with six minutes to go, Dave Meese bundled home from a corner to offer at least a whiff of respectability to the proceedings.
