Wulfrunians started brightly, Aaron Bishop forcing a good save from Sam Arnold on five minutes after springing the offside trap and the same player being on the receiving end of another great opportunity but blazed over the bar on 20 minutes.
Khalsa took the lead three minutes later, Mensah Kinch bundling the ball into the net from a right flank cross by Franco.
Josh McKenzie thought he had doubled the lead on 33 minutes, his curling effort controversially chalked off following a linesman’s flag.
But the goal did come on 35 minute, McGrady nodding home after another Franco cross from the right. And the same combination did a repeat four minutes later, McGrady’s header from Franco’s cross making it 3-0.
Wulfrunians weren’t prepared to spend the second half in damage limitation mode. On 52 minutes, Arnold flapped at a corner and Alex Perry had to clear off the line.
On 58 minutes McKenzie was put through, forcing an emergency intervention from Turner whose clearance landed with McGrady who spotted the chance for his hat-trick but from range was just unable to hit the target.
McKenzie came agonisingly close to making it four on 69 minutes, another incisive jaunt down the left by McGrady ending with a great cross from the flank which the striker was just unable to connect with.
Wulfrunians pulled one back on 84 minute, substitute Joel Owusu curling a good effort from the edge of the box to make it 3-1.
In injury time, Knight needed to make a nifty intervention to deny Perry who was lurking looking to take advantage of substitute Mykel Beckley’s cross.
