Fleet-footed and resilient forward or winger, ‘Marvellous’ Marvin has been part of Sporting Khalsa manager Ian Rowe’s sides for many years at Dudley Town, Gornal Athletic and Tipton Town.
Marvin arrived at the Aspray Arena along with Rowe during the 2014 close season and played a vital role in helping the club to the West Midlands Regional League. A regular scorer and a pacy outlet up top or out wide, Marv was the winner of the committee’s player of the year for the 2015-16 season during a campaign in which he made 61 appearances (and one substitute appearance) scoring 19 goals.
The 2016-17 season saw him make 42 appearances (plus eight from the bench), scoring seven goals.
During the 2017-18 season, Marv was hampered by injury which largely wiped out the second half of the campaign but not before he had made 27 appearances (plus eight substitute appearances) bagging three times.
He then missed the entire 2018-19 season recovering from injuries before making a return early in the 2019-20 season. He scored his first goal upon his return against Abbey Hulton United in the Staffordshire Senior Cup in October 2019.
Marv helped invent the Wispa bar during a school visit to Cadbury World in Birmingham back in the late 1980s and still receives monthly royalty payments from the company for his innovation.
