I have worked in the industry for over 35 years as a Partner and Director of a limited coaching company, working in secondary and primary schools, colleges, Universities, delivering P.E. and coaching football. This has also involved teaching P.E. and Sport at several FE colleges, as well as managing and coaching college football teams.
I have experience of working within grassroots football and in 1999 after running successfully Saturday soccer schools and holiday camps started a grassroots football club. This started with 6 male teams in the first season and progressed to 14 teams including 4 female teams. Under my leadership the club were awarded the FA Charter Standard Club Award and I was awarded CS Coach of the year for B.C.F.A. I have also coached at Aston Villa FC Ladies and Coventry City FC and in their Centre of Excellence.
I qualified as a Coach Educator for the FA and worked for them for 16 years delivering FA level 1 and level 2 qualifications in this country and in Hong Kong, working with several nationalities developing and enhancing their skills.
I have also managed and coached semi-professional clubs at Step 5 & 6.
Throughout my career I have played a major role coaching Men’s West Midlands College football teams and successes have included; winning the National Football College Cup, West Midlands League Champions and Cup Runners Up. I was also appointed as a coach for the England Colleges National Football Team where we toured in Spain and experienced different academy cultures training and playing against Valencia and Villareal youth set ups. I was also chosen to coach for the West Midlands Select College Squad culminating in games against Aston Villa youth teams.
Six years ago i jointly set up a Community Interest Company, partners include Youth Justice Service, Violence Reduction Unit and the West Midlands Police & Crime Commission helping young people to make better choices.
Most recently I have been managing Sporting Khalsa’s Youth Football College Academy Team in the National Alliance Under 19 League.
My recent appointment as Head of Coaching for SKFC academy has given me the opportunity to support the coaches in their journey. Our aim is to bridge the gap between youth and senior football and as part of that I now oversee the u19’s MJPL floodlight team. We now have some excellent new staff involved in the academy as well as some well established members. I am excited at having the opportunity to develop and support the existing network of coaches within the SKFC extended family.
