Today (Friday) the draw was made for the first two rounds of the Emirates FA Cup and Buildbase FA Vase, both involving Sporting Khalsa.
The first FA Cup game at the new-look Aspray Arena will take place on Saturday August 11 2018 when Khalsa will entertain West Midlands Regional League neighbours Tividale in an extra preliminary round tie. The last time the two sides met was in March this year when Ian Rowe’s men defeated a spirited and young Tivi outfit 3-0 in the J W Hunt Cup.
The winners of this tie will travel to either Stourport or Shawbury in the next round, to be played on Saturday August 25.
In the Vase, Khalsa will travel to fellow Midland Football League outfit Coventry Sphinx on Saturday September 1 for a first round qualifying tie. In March, Khalsa and Sphinx played out a 0-0 draw at Khalsa’s temporary home of Castlecroft in the last time the two sides met.
The winners of that tie will travel to either Gornal Athletic or Stone Old Alleynians in a match to be played on Saturday September 15.
